Dont Sell Yourself Short!

Part of becoming a cosmetologist is learning about the products you use on your customers. It is very easy to sell a product when you know what it does, what it smells like and how it performs.

A good way of ...getting your customers to purchase a product is to have them smell, feel and play with the product. You must be assertive in promoting the product. Know it! What it does, how it feels, what it can do for their hair and scalp.

Establishing a trust in your relationship with your customer is very important; you provide a service for them. In order to sell them into anything, trust is the first important step. Make eye contact with the person you’re trying to sell to. Be confident! Talk to your customer openly and honestly.

Show your customer the value in what you’re selling to them. Show them how that product will improve their life. Tell them what it will do for their hair. Make them think they can’t live without the product.

Educate your customer. Some customers do not like change. To reach their hair goals, you have to educate them on why that product will be a value to them.

You sell your service; you should be able to sell them a product you used on them today!
